Introducing Koodo Live! Similar to a Reddit AMA, we’ll be bringing in experts to host hour-long Q&A sessions. You can ask them anything and everything, and they’ll reply in real-time.

No topic is off-limits. That includes dating advice or even what to have for dinner if that’s what you want to talk about. Just be respectful of each other, our hosts and all of the other mobile carriers out there.

Our first Koodo Live session is on Friday, June 13th 12-1PM EST with our Chief Officer, Kevin Banderk. He’ll be here to answer your questions and comments in real time.

See you then!

I will not be on as I am working but I will ask this now why can you not have a plan like wind where for $39 you get unlimited talk, text in Canada & the USA?

Hi usually I am happy with Koodo , but as from yesterday I am very upset and disappointed to the point that I am debating on changing service provider! I have 4 phones on my bill all with different plans and have been with Koodo for many years . I went yesterday to upgrade my phone to the Galaxy S 5 and was told I am not allowed to get the phone on a large tab without having to change my plan and pay mor money for less data or else instead of $175 I have to pay $375 for the phone ! This is ridiculous ! Koodo should not let there old customers be disappointed like this !

Well, they're not just gonna give you $500 off the S5 and let you pick a cheap plan.

Part of the Tab Large requirements are that you must take a tab large plan. You are however free to take a tab small or medium and keep your plan (to keep it on tab medium it must be a 30$ plan or more) .

Thats the rules and that's how it works. I can understand you're upset but they can't break those conditions because the billing system wouldn't allow it anyway.

Hey Ahmad,
the koodo plan that you mentioned is as follows:
Unlimited Messaging (Text and Picture)2
Unlimited Local Calling (Incoming and Outgoing)7
$50
All base plans include:
Voicemail5
Call Display
Call Waiting
Conference Calling
International text messages sent and received anywhere in Canada2

Learning the ropes

Here are a few things you should know about Koodo Prepaid:

You can use your phone for local calls included in your base plan, but for long distance calls you'll need a Booster add-on
You can use your Prepaid phone all over Canada but not outside of the country

Here are some standard rates for Talk Booster add-ons7

1 min Canada call will deduct 1 Anytime minute.
1 min US call will deduct 2 Anytime minutes.
1 min international call will deduct 5 Anytime minutes.

I think Ahmad you forgot to review the koodo mobile web page a little further.
To get Canada Wide talk you need a booster add-on.
Also Ahmad I was not putting koodo down by any means I was just wanting to know if they would ever lower there rates to more affordable ones. I have been a Koodo customer for years with no complaints except for pricing being more competitive.

Hey Kevin, I purchased a phone in which a Koodo store clerk chipped. No exchange would be accepted as the phone was phisically damaged. I called customer service where the rep cleared my tab and told me to get a new one. The phone has since been discontinued on Koodo. You guys are refusing to give me any sort of compensation and have been continiously trying to sell me a phone that has been known to have issues. Furthermore, the current unit I have is very slow, poor charge, over heat and poor battery life. What is your suggestion?

Hi Rushfan2112, I'm not a mobile master but I think I can help. Which phone was it that was discontinued? In any case since your tab was cleared, Koodo has done something for you. You can try calling some local kiosks to see if they have any leftover inventory of the discontinued model. If they don't have any, you could try a factory reset on your current phone after backing it up which could fix some of the problems but from what it sounds like your current phone is not too good. I suggest looking into a phone like the moto g (budget) free on tab S or nexus 5 if you have more to spend. (100 on tab M)

Can I get out of my 3 year locked term plan? My bill is outrageous bc when I signed up for my iPhone plan it didn't include what is now canada wide talk! iPhone plans are now obsolete so I couldn't even switch to another iPhone plan if I wanted!

How much longer do you have on your contract?

And you can get out but you'd have to pay off your subsidy according to the terms of your contract

Okay so I'm not looking to get out of it completely just change my plan so I'm not paying $50 in long distance charges a month! I love my phone and it works fine it's just my plan that doesn't give me what I need.

Nope. You have to adhere to the terms of your contract.

Payoff the phone and your free to switch to a new plan so it may be cheaper to pay off the phone instead of your bill each month. Then you could even get the 10% SIM Only discount for not having a tab as well which gives you 10%,off the price if your plan each month.
