Internet Sharing not working

I recently upgraded my Telus Nokia Lumia 520 operating on Koodo to an unlocked Nokia Lumia 635 purchased through the Microsoft store. I popped my existing Koodo prepaid sim into the new 635, set up the apn for data, and was good to go. I have been using the phone without issue for six weeks. Today I discovered that internet sharing is not working. I get the following: "Connection not shared. There's no cellular data connection to share right now. Check your cellular settings and signal, and try again." (Yes I have a data booster and data works)

Now in the past I have used the access point application to ensure all settings were correct but that app is not working in this newer version of windows 8.1.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to successfully turn on internet sharing?

Access Point isn't compatible with 8.1, but the good news is that you can edit your APN without using that app.

Settings > mobile + SIM > SIM settings

If Manual Internet APN is off, try switching it on and see if that does the trick. If not, do the following:

APN: sp.koodo.com
IP type: IPv4v6

Yes, the APN settings that you outline have already been applied and I have no problem with accessing data but internet sharing does not work as described in my original post.

Did you set up the 635 as a brand new phone or did you restore from a 520 backup? I once had issues with Internet Sharing on one of my Windows Phones that was restored from a backup (which went through various Lumia models). I performed a factory reset and it resolved the issue.

If you perform a factory reset and Internet Sharing still isn't working, you may have a faulty device in which case you'd need to get in contact with Microsoft support.

Actually I restored from the 520 backup. I will do as you suggest and perform a factory reset and see what happens. Thanks for your help. I will report back.

Ivan is our WP expert. I dabble in WP a little bit but I'm still looking for the perfect one. Maybe the M8 for Windows...
