How much is the international texting option?

Will a Telus phone work or do I need to unlock it?

Thanks.

1. International texting is included in all current monthly plans.

2. Many Telus phones work without being unlocked (iPhones, BB10 phones, Windows Phones, and certain Androids). If you give us the exact phone in question, we'll be able to provide you with a better answer.

Well in that case you're Ivan's newest best friend!

Also to answer your question: yes, it'll work without being unlocked. He had that for a while. I have a Koodo Lumia 520 and it works with Telus or Koodo interchangeably. You'll just have to make sure you put in the correct APN settings.

Still have it, and I can confirm firsthand that it worked even before I unlocked it. Just get the Access Point app for easy APN settings. The link can be found in my blog post:

If you're using WP8.1 with Cortana enabled, Bing Vision is now under lenses in the camera app.

Thanks. One more question. If I'm on a monthly Telus plan can they move me over to Koodo (so I don't have another credit check).

No. Even though Koodo is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Telus, it operates as a separate business entity.

Koodo is the one doing the credit check (and they should be the ones to cancel your Telus line if you wish to keep your existing number).
