Absolutely not! You can receive a call from anywhere in the world and as long as you're in Canada and on a Canada-wide plan, it counts as a regular phone call that comes out of your regular minutes

Thanks very much. Now my last question..... If I place a call to someone with a 604 area code (Vancouver) and he happens to be visiting San Franscisco, am I charged long distance... I am presuming I will. ??

Technically you are calling Vancouver. So if you are on a Canada wide plan then there should not be any extra charges.

Your friend on the other hand will likely be charged roaming depending on their plan

On your end you'll be charged the same as if they were in Canada.
They on the other hand will be charged extra since they will be out of the country.
