I have voice and data international roaming disabled on my self serve... but want to know if it is for just overseas, or the States or both?  ...and if it works properly without having to worry about getting charged.

It is just for overseas.

What do you mean if it works properly without being charged? If you use your phone while roaming you will be charged. It will be pay per use rates unless you have easy roam on your account.

Bad wording. I read somewhere that it would leak data and they would be charged for the small amount it leaked. Maybe that was for the setting on the phone. I will re word the question

Data leakage is always a risk. Like when you restart your phone, etc.
Your best bet is to take out your sim

@Tim, leakage can always be a problem and yes people have been charged even though they never intended on using it. You don't need any add ons for a phone to be able to roam in the states. If you don't want to roam, go in your network settings and change it from automatic to manual. Then set it to Koodo. This will ensure your phone can't roam. If you ever do want it to roam you have to set it back to automatic.

Yes, it will. However you should make sure you know the rate of the easyroam/pay per use rate before roaming in US. Otherwise, you might have some nasty surprise later.

That add-on is free and you won't be charged if you don't roam internationally.

The best way not to get charged for roaming is to take your sim out of your phone
