I was about to add the International Text/Data plan for $40 for our upcoming trip, but noticed it says it is not available for CDMA phones. I have an older Moto G and google tells me it is CDMA. Does this mean I have to suck up huge roaming charges? I have a second phone that is unlocked and will have a European SIM for that, but I need to use my Canadian number for some contacts that have already been set up. Can anyone advise me please?

Where did u get this moto g?
Wait, sorry -- I named the wrong phone. It's a new HTC One that I have on a plan with Koodo and want to add the international plan to.  It is not unlocked but also appears to be CDMA.  The Moto G is unlocked so I will use that with a European SIM. I know nothing about this stuff so your input is much appreciated.
Only the one that came with it. I want to use my CDN number (associated with the HTC) occasionally while abroad but will use my european sim in the Moto G for local calls.

So there is a sim card in your HTC ? Please just answer this question.
Sorry, I thought I did answer. Yes, there's a SIM card, the one that Koodo put in my phone when I bought it a few months ago.
