I am travelling to Rio, Brazil in 2 weeks.  Can someone please explain the best way to go about getting the most text messages possible?  I will be there for 10 days and it seems as though your two packages will not suffice for my needs?  If that is all you offer, can I put both the $15 text package and the $40 package on to be able to have 125 text messages?  Will that be my limit for the entire 10 days?

Unfortunately, you cannot combine the two. I would recommend that you unlock your phone and obtain a local SIM card in Brazil.

I saw in another forum, that someone (Mathieu, Mobile Master) said you could have both packages just not the same package twice.  I am so confused. Should I contact kodoo to verify?  I hear it is a nightmare to get a sim card in Brazil...Thanks

I apologize, these are indeed stackable. You can use both.

Where have you heard that it's difficult to get a local sim? All four major carriers have no issues with selling them. Some require a passport and youir address wherever you're staying but that's it.

First of all, check to see if your phone is compatible with the South American networks. They work in different frequencies. Does you no good to have a big fat bank of texts if you can't use them.

You can only have one Koodo package going at one time.

Primer on what you can do with an unlocked phone here:

You can short circuit the whole texting i$$ue and frequency problem if you are willing to limit your texting to where you have wifi:

Sorry. Didn't notice you are running iPhone.

You can do a dry run for free before leaving to see if it's suitable.
