I traveled to the US the past month and received incoming calls from my parents in France. I just received the bill from Koodo and I've been charged for these incoming calls. I have a unlimited plan with unlimited incoming calls, and no one told me that I couldn't receive calls when I'm outside of Canada. What's going on??

You were roaming, so incoming calls are charged. You only have unlimited incoming calls while in Canada.

You can call customer service at 1-866-995-6636 to see if they can help you out with these charges but no promises.

The plans are Canada wide but not world wide. I'm sure you weren't told that you could travel to the states just like you're at home and there wouldn't be extra charges.

You can roam in the states but additional roaming packs would be necessary to avoid extra charges. Those roaming packs are available for a slight extra charge.

All of the plans also show standard charges. Those apply to you when you exceed the limits of your plan

Next time be sure you know what your plan does and doesn't include. If you have questions, it's best to ask before the charges are incurred.

Thanks for the answers.

I've checked this before I left and it's not telling anything about incoming calls. What I've understood is that if I CALL from the U.S to anywhere else, I'd be charged 1,50$/minutes.
How am I supposed to know that when someone, who have a plan for calling from Europe to the U.S and Canada, calls me I have to pay too?

Is there no difference between incoming and outgoing calls?

Thanks again

If you use your phone outside of Canada, you are using it on another companies network. That's why you are charged extra.

Hello Mikael

Here's what the first sentence says : "With Koodo, there are no roaming or long distance charges anywhere in Canada! However, if you’re heading outside of Canada, talk, text and data aren’t covered in your monthly plan."

Then it says,

I'm very sorry you misunderstood the text.
