Am I charged for incoming spam calls? How can I check my usage?

After signing up with Koodo Monday pm I checked my activity early Tuesday am. There were a number of calls from collection agencies or telemarketers related to previous owner of this number. I called back one to clarify situation. Are these calls charged against my account, if so they should be deleted.

What doe the 0/83 represent on activity?

Hi Steve the calls you got are treated like any other call you get. Minutes are deducted as per your plan. Koodo can't control who calls you.

You can block the calls on most phones or just change your number now. It's free through self serve to do so.

Steve, if you are getting annoying, frequent calls intended for the previous person with your number, why don't you ask Koodo to give you a new number?

Like you, I took the number Koodo offered. I needed some help activating and during that process the friendly rep found a new cell number for me that had the same last 4 digits of my home phone. I appreciate her initiative to this day -- it's the only cell phone number I've ever been able to remember! It also doesn't hurt to ask for a credit to cover the minutes used if you are worried you might run out of minutes during the month. Your situation might be worth a call to customer service, given the "toxicity" of the number you were issued.
