Somewhat of a universal answer but, try toggling the Airplane mode settings. You could also take out the SIM and reboot and put it back in. You should also get a travel package while your over there to avoid any crazy charges.

I also ran the Moto G through the website willmyphonework.net and the 3rd Gen Moto G seems to be able to work on most Spain networks except some networks 4G LTE are not able to work with it. Depending on which model of the Moto G you have you may not be able to use it over there.

I had the same problem in Italy. I had to use an old iPhone 3GS (thank you Koodo for giving me wrong info on how to unlock my actual phone) and I could "see" the local providers but no luck on connection. I got a local SIM from TIM and, for nickel and dimes, I was in business. Only one exception, I could receive messages but only some of the ones I sent went to target.

Yep your best bet is to get a SIM local to where you are to get things up and running flawlessly. Also if you need to make calls abroad, your best bet is to use Google Hangouts or Skype

Chadwick, wireless prices in Europe are so low that you can afford to call a chosen country in the World at a very decent fee. Just explain what you want to do with your phone and you will get the right SIM. Just a curiosity, the European Community is banning roaming charges for calls in Europe and this is dictated by law.

I know they are low in Europe. Hoping the rest of the world gets low rates at some point LOL The Hangouts and Skype comment was for if people dont get a European SIM.

Sure, I got it. Mine was just a comment. I hope North American wireless providers, mainly Canadian, will listen.

Hi Jodi
Log into your self serve and check your add ons again.

Make sure international voice roaming is added and if you plan to use data, be sure international data roaming is added

Then restart your device.

Thank you!

I did have pay per use international long distance, but not the international voice or data roaming. I should have read the fine print! I've added these and I'm now connected.

Some minor issues I encountered were:

1- did not have the ability to add these through my koodo self serve app. It kept timing out, even once the main website was live again.

2- the koodo website was under maintenance for a few hours, which is really just bad timing and just a minor annoyance in this age of instant gratification :)

Just curious is there any reason why these $0.00 plans can't be part of all plans or added automatically once you purchase an international plan?

2. Yeah most sites pick what I locally middle of the night...or mid morning in Spain.

I'm not sure actually. Sounds like a good idea to me. If you you buying an international package I think that it should be understood you know that you will be paying extra and got an add-on to lessen it and actually u your phone.

@Jodi to answer your first question...the reason why they are not added to every plan automatically is because there are eligibility criteria base on your credit rating. Not everyone can get this feature.

Your second suggestion is a good idea and will take it back with the team to see what we can do. Once you are approved to add the roaming package, the international part indeed should be added automatically. There could something I'm not awaaere of so let me see what we can dig up.

@ Jodi would you mind posting your suggestion (auto-add the $0.00 add-ons once international features are bought) to our Koodo IDEAS section? https://community.koodomobile.com/koodo?topic-list[settings][type]=idea

I'm having our team look into it and see what fix can be in place and how quickly. Thanks for the helping us get better! :-)
