In a contract with a lost phone....I need out.

I purchased a new new phone on contract with Koodo. My son lost his phone and I am not replacing it (conditions I put on when we purchased the phone). I am still being billed by Koodo and have tried several times to contact them, only to be met with an automated voice message. How do I get out of this contract or can I? If I paid to have the lost phone unlocked will that suffice? Thanks.

Hi Logan,

When you call Koodo, try to press 0 a few times and you should be able to speak to a live person. All you need to pay is the remainder of the TAB and the last month... thankfully there are no contracts with Koodo.

Hopefully when your son is a little more mature you'll be back :)

Unlocking the phone doesn't cancel the account. If someone found the phone and decided to keep it you unlocking it is essentially doing them a favour.

If you absolutely don't intend to replace the phone you'll need call Koodo, option 5 is for customer service, and then they can get you in touch with the correct department.

It's a few hoops, yes, but Koodo doesn't want you to cancel so easily.

Well you can suspend the service, but you're still responsible for the monthly bill. You'd have to pay off the Tab on the phone and cancel the line entirely to get out of the monthly payments.
