I tracked my messages on my bill, first month of koodo by the way... Most of the peeps I communicate with are iphone and iMessage. All my SMS and mms show on my bill. What gives?

iMessage uses data so it will not show on your bill like calls

Yes I have an iphone and iMessages are the default texting. Now I calculated all messages sent and they pretty much equal the amount I sent out this month mms and sms

Does koodo force text through their network? Like I was told by a rep that mms won't go through wifi, only through data

MMS goes through the network, but since a photo is "data" it would go through the Koodo data pipeline.  However any MMS that goes through this data pipeline is free.

Now Data used from imessage is not free and will go against your data allotment of your plan.  You can also use imessage on Wifi (like google hangout, Whatsapp, Facebook messenger, etc)

So basically today I had a lot of trouble sending mms via iMessage over wifi! I actually had to get off wifi to send them or switch to sending SMS. What gives? Is Koodo hijacking my iphone? FYI I "sent" another image today on iMessage when it managed to get through. Checked my koodo app and the account reflected an extra mms.

Either settings on my phone are wrong or something else is going on that I can't explain

If you are sending via imessage then it is not MMS.  It is sending a photo through a data messaging program.  The fact you had to get off Wifi (not koodo) and get onto the cellular network (Koodo) shows that Koodo is working and the issue is with the wifi, imessage, or the phone.

Are you sure you are sending the photo on imessage (via data like email) or is it sending via MMS (via koodo)?
