DID you buy the phone straight from Koodo or did you buy it from a 3rd party?

I've never heard of that happening, have you ever run a custom ROM on the phone?

Ooh. That's weird. A Google search shows some other people having the same problem with previous LG phones like the Nexus 4 and 5. Some say it's a motherboard issue, but one person called a repair centre in India (shipping to LG US centre would have been expensive and take too long) and they fixed it for cheap so it's probably not. You shouldn't have to pay, though. It's under warranty.

Go to your nearest Koodo shop to send the phone out for warranty repairs. Make sure you backup everything important on the device because they will factory reset the phone when they receive it.

It looks pretty helpful. It's worth a shot before having to resort to warranty repair.

You're just trying to access the IMEI through the dialer method?
Go to about phone in settings it will definitely be in there.
