I'm wanting to switch from Rogers to Koodo, but my phone from Rogers still has a balance on it. Am I still able to switch, or do I have to wait until my balance is zero? I'm not able to buy it out at this time.

You can still switch. Rogers will send you a final bill which you will be responsible for.

Note that when you switch to Koodo and sign up, they will run a credit check

I believe it's a soft check, but I'm not certain.

If your credit is not good enough, they may place you on a spending limit program

I can confirm that it's a "soft check". Just make sure you pay Rogers once they send you the last invoice after you port your line to Koodo.

Your Account# from Rogers is all Koodo needs to grab the number from the other side.

If you pass the credit charcoal and the phone is unlocked and compatible with Koodo's frequencies then you can switch. If you don't pay your balance with Rogers through Rogers may blacklist the phone and it will become useless on anything but wifi
