Theres always a market for last year's gear. Check ebay to see what your old stuff might be worth. After you get the new iPhone sell your old one to offset the expense.

Chads idea is your best bet and you'll get much more than if you trade it in. Try selling it on Kijiji, I've sold many mobile devices on there & its never taken me more than 3 days as long as you price it right.
