Is your account still active and you are still paying your bill during this time?

If so then it is still good and attached to your number, even if you take it out from your phone.

Are you on prepaid? If so, then the account's basically gone. You'd have to start over with new plan, phone #, boosters, etc.

If you're on postpaid... I really hope you put it on Seasonal Hold or you paid your bills in advance because I'd wager that your service is suspended by now.

Fair enough, but it sounded like she already left when I read "with this SIM card", as if she was roaming or something. Then I realized it couldn't have been prepaid anyway. I can't delete my post lol

You can "not use" your SIM card by cancelling your service, placing it on hold, or simply leaving the country. His reading comprehension is in no way inferior to yours.

usually if a sim hasnt been used for a little over 3 months they just stop working. you can test it out by putting the sim in the phone if it doesnt work then you will have to get a new sim card :D when I worked at the call centre I talked to allot of snowbirds and they would always come back having to call us because they have been away for more then 3 months and they have no service, their account is in good standing, its becuase the sim deactivates itself after a certain amount of time if its not being used on a regular basis :D
