If I remove the plastic wrapping from a new phone, am I no longer eligible for a refund?

Just bought a new LG G4 and was wondering if it is safe to take off the plastic wrapping. I'm not entirely sure whether I'm going to refund the phone or not since I need to test it out for a few days, but since leaving the plastic on bugs me a lot I was wondering if removing it voids the refund policy, since from how I understand it getting a refund means returning the phone with original packaging.

You can still return it. Just keep the original packaging/plastic and don't throw it away. The store will either have to resell it as open box/refurbished/lightly used/whatever terminology you like (not seen too frequently, but possible) or return it to the vendor for credit (if LG allows that).

If the phone is still in 'sellable' condition with less than 30 minutes of talk time, 50 text messages or 50 mb of data used and returned less than 15 days from the activation date you are eligible for a return.  Unfortunately, if you have exceeded one of these criteria, you generally are not eligible for a buyer's remorse return.

The last criterion (15 days), is the only one that really matters. Just perform a factory reset before bringing it back.

@Sam You're mixing up Trial Period and Money-Back-Guarantee. The trial period is for new customers who are planning on testing out the network, if they aren't happy, they can cancel their service without paying for the first months bill if it isunder the criteria.
