If I remove my SIM while travelling, then put it back in- will my missed messages come through?

I’ll be in Europe the next 1.5month and will be getting a local SIM.
Last year I kept my Canada phone active, as well as brought along an old S2 for the local SIM. It was painfully slow. If I remove my current Canada SIM from my S6 and replace with local, when I put my Canada SIM back in, will any missed text messages, calls, etc be delivered?

SMS are only held undelivered for a few days. If you exceed this period without inserting your SIM they will disappear permanently. Since incoming messages are free, you could insert your Koodo SIM daily to check your messages, and reply using your EU SIM.

Not for 1.5 months.  I do know that for a short period, SMS will continue to try to be delivered, but it does stop after a period of time

Figure on about 3 days worth of retention max for most North American carriers. Consider getting a burner phone to use with your Koodo SIM. I wouldn't want to lose or damage my Koodo SIM overseas. They really aren't designed to be take all that much use or abuse.
