If I purchase the $15 prepaid plan (with unlimited international text and picture messaging) does it work internationally? I'll be going to work in Miami but want to keep this number active and being able to send a few texts while in Miami to people home in Vancouver would be great.

Hi haileymorganrok, no that plan means you can text anywhere in the world from Canada. You would need a US roaming add on or pay us roaming per per use charges. $5 for 250 text though isn't bad for fairly limited usage so $20 total.

Pay per use roaming doesn't work on prepaid. Roaming boosters would be the only option. The fact that they don't expire means they're not a bad deal though.

The never-expiring pre-paid boosters are actually a better deal than many post-paid offerings. You still have to keep your baseplan up to date, but $15 a month is what you would be charged to put your post-paid account on seasonal hold with no service at all. The text booster includes unlimited incoming texts, so it's a particularly good deal. Local coverage is usually by AT&T or T-Mobile and I've never had a problem.
