I visited a Koodo booth at the mall and attempted to puchase the Galaxy Note II for 350$. I was told that I cannot puchase this phone outright at that price and it must be added to a tab. If I was to purchase the phone outright, it would be at the pre-paid rate and it would cost me 425$. I do not want a tab, nor do I want to pay extra for the phone. I am very content with my current plan and I do not want anything on my account to change.

Just to specify my question is: Was the employee at the Koodo booth truthful? If so, why does it cost more if I want to buy the phone outright? This seems like a punishment to loyal customers.

I am a current Koodo customer and I get 10% discount off my bill for not being on a tab - I would like to keep this discount.

Since you're already a monthly user Tabitha, I see no reason why they wouldn't sell you the phone for $350. I'd go back and ask to speak to a manager, or visit another location. Going back would be the best option though, they need to be aware that they were wrong.

This situation is different... Sure you can get it for $350! All the Rep has to do is go to Tab redemption, then go through the steps and select "No Tab discount" when they're selecting the Tab level. It's that simple.

Just put like $20 of the phone on the tab and pay the rest, then your tab will be clear after just a couple of months and you'll get the phone at $350 if they want to charge you more to buy it outright.
