Ack!!! I just reread your question... can't you buy a prepaid phone in the store?

Most high end devices are not eligible for outright purchase, some phones are, and those that are usually require an administration fee ($35) on top of the device cost. This varies by retailer but that's what it is for Mobile Shop. Why?

1. Our advisors make no commission on that sale.

2. Koodo does not pay us for that sale because there was no activation.

3. There are Purolator shipping costs to get devices in the store so we need to cover that.

We're a business. We need to make money somewhere.

I don't believe you can buy it without a plan on the website or in store other than buying prepaid which only certain phones can be purchased on Prepaid like Johnathan said. They do this to avoid ppl from buying devices from them to be used on other carriers which which makes complete sense to me, no point it selling a phone to a customer of another provider then they won't be able to sell that phone to one of their own customers especially if they limited to a certain amount of them. Koodo subsidizes the price if phones which makes no sense to do for someone who's not your own customer.
