I know you can call block and text block, with the Samsung S2x. Not sure about other phones.

Bad call! You just made a mistake lol. Get ready for the telemarketing calls to come in

The DNCL is a piece of garbage

I wouldn't be so quick to condemn the DNCL. The majority of the calls stopped when I registered my number a few years back.

This site : http://www.crtc.gc.ca/eng/telemarketi... redirects directly to the one I gave when I click on "Register for the National Do Not Call List"

This one too : http://www.servicecanada.gc.ca/eng/go...

So I guess, IMO, that the service can be trusted unless the government sell those numbers. Which would be pretty lame.

Also, if someone else calls you, just make sure to tell them you're going to make a complaint (https://www.lnnte-dncl.gc.ca/plt-cmp-eng) and they will immediatly erase your number.

Also you can use one of the call block apps.

The do not call list isn't perfect. Some companies are still able to call you. Such as ones you are under contract with or have had recent dealings with.

Installing the app is the better way to go since you can block their numbers and they can try all they want and never get through.

For anyone looking at this later where they have a device where no such option exists what I used to do was create a contact for all those unwanted numbers then set that contact to not ring or vibrate. My screen would still light up and interrupt what I was doing if I used it but if it was sleeping I had no idea I was being harassed.

That's a good tip.
Speaking of Phone Numbers I notice a 1 888 number on my call log, with US at the end of it.
So then I call Koodo (to change US long distance to her phone #) and then put the two numbers together. Why does Koodo use a US 1888 number ?

I think a lot of tech people are contracted by Koodo and they actually work from home and get paid per call that goes to them.
I've talked to customer service people and one of them was in New Brunswick....lol
