Hey there Randall!
depending on the location you got the phone from if it was Koodo kiosk they should have offered to do this for you. If you got the phone direcetly from the koodo kiosk just simply go back and ask them to do it for you :) its free of charge and its very simple

Do the kiosks transfer things like music and apps? I was under the impression it was contacts/pictures only.

Randall (depending on TeaBirds clarification) you likely will need to just redownload your apps from the playstore, and move your music over on your computer.

No they can't transfer the apps infact you can't transfer apps without rooting the device and transferring the APK file, they will just sign you into your Google account and it will download the apps again from the PlayStore on the New device.
