People have mentioned being able to get the old 30 day plans by calling in although no guarantee.
I'd suggest just getting a US SIM card.

Anyone needing US roaming over an intermediate period of time should look at Tracfone.com for prepaid minutes and data that can be used on consecutive days or spotted over a longer period. Unlike most carriers, Tracfone minutes can be used to call Canada without any surcharge.

How much did you want to use your phone in the US and for how long?

In April 2017 I paid $45 for 30 days of unlimited talk and text in the US.  Now $7 x 30 = $210!!!

it was capped at $100/1 billing cycle.
You could also call to Koodo and ask them to have the $45 addon, some reported they could do it.
