Hi Jackie,

360$ of the price of the phone was put towards a tab. This tab is then divided up by 24 monthly payments to pay for the price of the phone. Think of it as a 24 month interest free loan.

Learn more about the tab here.

Thanks Mathieu, I just feel scammed. My bill says that I owe for the gift card $150 and the sim card $5 no charge except one penny for the phone. In the end there was no charge. The agent at WalMart agrees with me, I do not owe anything. Then I go to phone Koodo only to find out there is no bloody number to call only a community who very nicely called me stupid and said what did I think I was getting a phone for 1 penny, yes that is what I thought and how it was explained to me by the agent at WalMart. I would never have bought this stupid phone. I had wanted one for a long time but should have just bought a Galaxy 6!! Do you know of a phone number for me to call and talk to an actual person. I am beginning to feel like not paying the damn bill and give this phone away. My name should be "frustration personified"

Hey Jackie,

No phone is ever free. When Koodo gives a gift it is because you activated a a new account. If you cancel the account or return the phone, then why would you get to keep it? It's the same thing with stores like Best But and Staples, when they give you a 10$ gift card when you buy a specific product, if you return the product you must return the 10$ gift card. As for the phone, you are able to return the phone within 15 days of purchasing it.

If you do however decide to not pay a bill, it will affect your credit and could lead to you becoming unable to re-apply for cellular service or credit cards, etc.

I will say that if you would have read that long "contract" you signed, everything was outlined in that document. There is not and will never be any free phones.

thanks for your replies, of course not exactly what I wanted to hear, but so be it. I  appreciate having a phone number.  Since it is a long weekend I will call on Tuesday to find out where I stand, I love your last line, there will never be any free phones, guess I was naive and thought since I signed a two year contract with Koodo that this was it, two years with them and I could resign if I was happy. Sadly, for me, this has not turned out this way.  Buyer be aware !!!

Koodo customer service. Call 1-866-995-6636 from any phone or you can call *611 from your Koodo cell phone

I'm surprised you and the rep didn't go over the terms of the agreement. You signed off on it. It would show you the Tab charge there.

Either way if you're unhappy you should be able to refund the phone within 15 days by bringing it back to the Wal Mart you bought it from.

Jackie, can I just ask what Walmart location this was? Definitely would like to talk to them after all they are selling our services. Also, did you say your bill state you owe us for the gift card? That would only be the case if one were to leave Koodo within the first 30 days.
