I wanted to use Koodo as my carrier, but it is impossible to get a hold of a real person, I sat on hold for over an hour and then was disconnected .. at your Woodstock Ontario store they told Me I had to contact you by phone, but that is apparently impossible.

hi Drew,
You can visit a Koodo kiosk, bestbuy, wowmobile, wallmart and many several other store (for prepaid) to meet a person. It should not be a problem, I believe.

Who did you meet at Woodstock Ontario store? btw.

You cant even become a customer by calling in.

What services are you requesting?
Im surprised they are turning you away and asking you to call in.  They lose out on commission this way.  What did you ask the store?

I did go to a Koodo store, to acivate my old phone which has no card in it, the Koodo store told Me that I had to contact Koodo by phone as they could not unlock my old phone at the store, they could only do that by phone. So I tried to do that by phone, and waited for 1 hour and then my phone went silent, You really need to hire some more phone agents.   I do finally (after talking with Bell Canada have an ime #:  355426051195855/08 )  How can I unlock this phone please?  It is my wife's old phone, she did have Koodo service on it. thanks

Drew,
So it is about the unlocking? not new number activation? It would be much clearer if you mentioned it when you first posted.

As your wife is having a Koodo account (I assumed she is on postpaid/mothly) you can follow the instruction here.https://www.koodomobile.com/help/unlocking-your-phone

I am still not following with your Bell Canada IMEI claim? Was your phone from Bell? if so, you need to contact them to unlock.

To avoid the wait on phone, you could also contact Koodo through facebook, send a message to their facebook with your Koodo phone IMEI, they could come back later for the unlock code.

The forum is mostly for customers (like you and me) interactions. We cannot unlock your phone in the forum.

I went to the Koodo store asking for a new number as the phone has no sim card. At that time I couldn't be sure if the phone was previously on Bell or Koodo - I told the Koodo store that I was 90% sure the phone was on Kodoo, they told me there was no way to check that at the store, that I would have to call Koodo and get the phone unlocked.  So after sitting on the phone for an hour with Kodoo .. I called Bell they confirmed that the phone was not theirs, and they did that by having me give them the IME number from the phone.  So can You tell me how to get the phone unlocked so that I can take it back to the store and have them put a sim card in it? Thanks

Drew, I posted the instruction in the above post:
- You could ask your wife help you online with her selfserve.  https://www.koodomobile.com/help/unlocking-your-phone
- You can send message to their facebook with your phone IMEI (https://www.facebook.com/Koodo/)
- You can call them (1 (866) 995-6636)

If you open a new line with Koodo and if the phone was from Koodo, you don't need it to be unlocked to be used with Koodo network.

This is what should have happened.
Once of the people at the Koodo kiosk should have tested a koodo sim in the phone.  If it works, then they could have set you up with an account and sim card ($30 connection fee).

If it didnt work, then you would need to contact the carrier the phone was with. In this case, if the phone was used and purchased via Bell you would need to contact Bell as Koodo is unable to unlock Bell phones.

Now you said your wife used this phone with Koodo before.  If you are 100% sure, then there is no need to unlock the phone as it will still work with Koodo.
No need to call koodo.  No need to even login to self serve or facebook koodo.

The only call that is required would be to Bell and that is only if the phone is locked to Bell.  And I would check out Bell's website for their unlocking process

@Drew, that IMEI cannot be found in our system. At least what you posted here. Maybe it's not a Koodo phone after all?
