What plan do you have?
If you want to use Tab L deal, then you have to switch your plan to one of Tab L plan. ( I don't recommend it)
Take look a deal on Tab M and S for the S8. You will receive better activation credit.

I don't have a Tab plan at all. So I don't understand the jargon. I just want an S8 and my current plan. Maybe I should just go buy the phone and add it to my plan?

Hi Rich,
The explanation of the Tab is here: https://www.koodomobile.com/help/everything-you-need-know-about-tab

You could always buy a phone somewhere and use your SIM (you plan) with it, as long as the phones work with Telus/Koodo (most of the phones selling in Canada do)

OK, I'm in AB. My current plan is $60 a month, no Tab. If I understand the link correctly I can keep my plan and upgrade as long as I go with the Tab large plan. Correct? Thanks for all the help.

@Rich: you would only be charged for something you can do it yourself in selfserve.

611 is the number for almost all carriers in Canada to contact their customer support. You can only access it while you are on Koodo network.

1-866-995-6636 is the toll free number, you could call it from anywhere.

If you need help and personal support to upgrade your phone, I would suggest you visit a Koodo kiosk. You could talk to them directly and upgrade your phone.

I'm guessing I'll have to drive to town to talk to someone. Other than paying my monthly bill for 2 years I have had nothing to do with koodo or self serve. i not super impressed at this point. I can't believe that a forum is state of the art for information!

Or if you are unsure of what has been said in this thread you could try and order the phone online the way you want. Your plan with tab large. It won't let you because your plan doesn't qualify for tab large. Now try to order this phone with tab small or medium. You will get to the end and be able to complete the order because your plan does qualify for either of those tabs.

Just for information purposes tab large deals are terrible over a 2 year term. You pay the least up front but with the extra cost of a tab large plan and a large tab you end up paying alot more. If you get a medium tab which your plan qualifies for, you will pay more upfront for the phone but alot less in monthly charges.
