I now have a newer phone, which needs a smaller SIM card than my old one. Can I get a micro-sd with the same account on it?

You sure can, just go request the sim card at a kios or store it will have a cost of 10 bucks and activate it on self serve, if you do it with customer service you will get an extra $10 service fee.

Whats the size on the huawei? There are standard, micro and nano sims. If you have one of the new Koodo tricut sims you can simply either pop out or reassemble the sim to appropriately fit your phone. If you want/need a new sim you have to go into a Koodo store. $10 for a post paid sim, $20 for a prepaid in which you will get $20 back in credits. If you get a new sim you will have to register it online via selfserve and then you will be able to use it in your new phone.

Prepaid get $20 back for new accounts only, not for repair or swapping out.
