If the phone is from Koodo then Yes.
You could contact them (koodo/telus) through calling or facebook to ask for unlocking.

Keep in mind there is a very long wait right now so if you have to unlock it asap to be able to have a phone then you can call and it will be quicker but you may still be on a call for upwards of an hour so call when your chilling and can stay on hold for a bit.

Have you tried the fido sim in the koodo phone? If it's a brand new phone there is a very good chance it may be unlocked already.

Keep in mind that you need to have an active account with Koodo in order to get it unlocked.

Whoever sold you the phone in Canada is supposed to unlock it for free. Try Timo's shortcut first... try the SIM and if it works, it's been nice hearing from ya.

It's currently taking > 4 business days to actually get a response from Koodo thru Facebook.

Bell is the only one being difficult about this.

Telus/Koodo will unlock regardless if you are a customer or not
