I have been using my koodo phone for work and personal, work just added me to their (not koodo) plan.... with a new phone, all my business cards etc have this number on them SO... can I port the number to the rogers account, without closing my koodo account and just get a new phone number for that phone / account. If so, in what order do I pull this off please... without losing all my numbers, contacts etc.

Sadly, you can't port out your number and keep your account at Koodo. Porting out means you cancel Koodo.

However your contacts etc should be in your phone and have little to do with your account.... As long as your phone is unlocked you can just swap over to Rogers.

Just a note: depending on who your employer is, and how they manage their phone system, you may not have the administrative rights to make changes to the account. I suggest confirming with your management if their policies allow you to make these changes, before you get too deep.

Also, do you want all your personal calls going to the company's phone?

You should be able to transfer contacts from your old phone to the new, but again may need input from the management of the company (the IT department if such exists) to complete this.

Thanks to you both.  Sadly I get many many more work calls than personal LOL, so not too worried about updating my friends and fam on a new number. It all just sounds like a great big pain in the you know what.   If I don't lose all my contacts and vast collection of cat pictures I am good to go.
