I have been a loyal Koodo customer for several years but I want to tell you I am angry beyond belief at the outrageous charges with my last bill for roaming. This is a total rip off of honest Canadians and I intend to contact the CRTC about the way you abuse your customers

Were you using your phone while outside of Canada? If so, you were roaming and the charges are legitimate. If you were within Canada but close to the border, then your phone connected to a US tower. This is called accidental roaming and Koodo will credit any changes resulting from it, but you need to call them and let them know this is what happened before they will do so. As far as they can see, the phone was in the US. Nobody is deliberately trying to rip you off.

Koodo is very accommodating on the near-border issue.

I live near the US border and have family that works for the Cdn Border Agency, so you can imagine what their bills could look like if the US tower is a little stronger than the Canadian one.

The whole process starts by calling Koodo. You can take a short-cut and send them a private message on the Facebook or Twitter page if you don't have the time to wait on hold.

Any way you attack handle it, being calm and reasonable will get you more of what you want.

You should set your phone up to use Koodo only as a host, not use the automatic setting. Not sure I can help you with that on BB gear.

And if you are truly against roaming, you can always switch to prepaid.
