I have an LG4 that I've downloaded a bunch of stuff I don't want and now can't get rid of, how do I get back to my factory setting?

While trying to get my data I downloaded a bunch of stuff by mistake and now can't get rid of it.

Yeah...I did this and now everything including a years worth of photos is now gone.  I am crying.

That's what a factory reset does.
Did you follow the steps to back up your device and then restore your service to that backup once you were done? If done properly, they all should be backed up to Google.

No I didn't as I had nothing to back it up to.

But you just said you lost all of your pictures. That would have been something you would have to back up right?

Katherine,
   Your photos could have been backed up to a Google account. If you don't have one already, it is worth getting one, if you plan to continue using an Android phone.
