I have a cabin on the west coast of Vancouver Island with no cell coverage. A new cell tower has been built that I can see from my sundeck .When I search for networks ,EXT comes up and that is the only one .When I try to connect I get "ext network registering" then unavailable. What can I do to get coverage?

EXT usually indicates you are connecting to another provider's network. It is also possible the cell is not yet connected to the network, and is being tested. Care to pinpoint the location of the tower a bit more closely?

Looks like it fills a gap between Bamfield and Port Alberni mostly for boaters. Looks like one heck of a place to get electricity to run a cell site.

If it's a cell tower, and not a radio tower operated by some other agency, it would likely be live in the next few months. One in my neighbourhood was over a year between construction and becoming live due to delays by the hydro company getting power to the site.

Once the site is live, you'll be able to connect to it.

You need to enable roaming on your phone
