Have you ever had a smartphone? They all crack if you drop them, sit on them, put them in your pocket and lean against something, go from a very cold environment to a warm environment ect, it's a thin piece of glass covering the entire front of the device and it should be treated as such not like old phones that had clear plastic covering the display.

I highly recommend ppl use Tempered Glass screen protectors on their device them you avoid cracked screens because 99.9% of the time it cracks the screen protector when you have a mishap and them you just throw a new Tempered Glass screen protector on and away you go again, they're definitely worth the money especially when you can get them from eBay for like $5 or $10 and avoid $150-$200 repair bills.

Thank u and yes I have, had a smart phone before. Many in fact and this is the first time I have gotten a lg phone and the first time I have had a cracked screen. I've had a Samsung before and this has never happened especially when it's in case with the screen protector on it. And in this case I had both on it.

Unfortunately, electronics seem to be more of a lottery when it comes to physical damage. You can do things that help your odd's like screen protectors and cases, which is sounds like you did. But at the end of the day there is no guarantee, I have had a G3 and the screen is still great on it (although the glass screen protector I have is chipped and starting to crack). Ive seen people that are rough on their phone have it last forever, and people who are extremely careful have it break falling off the coffee table onto carpet. Unfortunately, the one thing I haven't ever really seen is a broken screen without there being a physical cause.
