Make sure bluetooth is turned on. If it says your connected to your car then it's not really your phone it would be the car at that point. I know I have to often reconnect to my car to make it work properly. Check forums about your car to see if there is any known fixes

While my 2012 Equinox connects to my phone via Bluetooth, it just isn't capable of playing my music over that same connection. But fear not. If your car has an AUX input you can either plug your phone directly into that or get a Bluetooth adapter to plug into it.

I use this one:

Like Chad says some car cannot play music through Bluetooth because they don't have the required protocol. Stupid isn't it?

I'm pretty sure that's your problem over there.

Try looking into your owners manual to see if their is anything the car might be doing wrong.
