I've recently moved my phone from Telus to Koodoo. I have 1G of data in my plan, but I can't access the internet. I had data before with Telus, I didn't have a problem and I haven't changed my phone settings. I have an S3, I'm in Quebec.

Hi Delita, you'll need to go into your phones settings menu and set up Koodo's APN settings, they're different than Telus.

Name: KOODO
APN: sp.koodo.com
Proxy: 74.49.0.18
Port: 80
Username: leave blank
Password: leave blank
Server: leave blank
MMSC: http ://aliasredirect.net/proxy/koodo/mmsc
MMS Proxy server: 74.49.0.18
MMS Port: 80
MCC: 302
MNC: 220
Authentication type: No set
APN type: No set

Tap menu key, then tap Save. Make sure the radio button is selected to activate data. The frequencies are compatible so it should work.

Go to the phones settings - more - mobile networks - access point names. Create a new APN and input the values above, then save and delete the Telus one if possible.

If you can't create a new one then input the above values in thr Telus one and change the name to Koodo.

Thanks Paul it's working. I wish they would have gone over my settings at the store when I signed the contract. Have a nice day.

Inserting the new SIM is supposed to address that change, without your involvement. It sometimes seems not to do so, and extra steps are needed.

Just on general principle, since it takes me about 2 hours for a round trip to the nearest Koodo or other cell boutique, I check that things are working before leaving and signing off.

It's not a bad idea to open the back of your phone and check that the unit works properly with the store SIM and that the one they gave you is the right size.

Yes, yes, yes!  I just bought an AT&T SIM for a trip I was taking into the USA. Made absolutely sure it was working before leaving the store.
