I broke the screen on my Moto X Play this evening. I'm not 100% sure if I have a warranty on my phone or not, so my question is a simple one: how much would it cost to send it off for repairs, counting both labor and the part? I live in Ontario, just north of Toronto.

Nobody will know 100% but on average it's usually around $150 + for a broken screen and depends on which phone and what exactly is damaged and how it's put together as to how much of the display you actually have to replace. The best thing to do if you want to go through Koodo is to send it away and they will contact you with an estimate of how much it will cost to fix and then you can decide whether or not you want the work done or just sent back to you broken.

Other options are to find a repair guy near you and see what they will charge you, or go on eBay and buy the parts you need a repair it your self with the help of a YouTube video instruction on how to repair the screen on your particular device.

Just to answer your warranty question, unless you have the extended warranty, this kind of damage isn't covered. If you do have the extended warranty there is an Oops replacement costs. That cost would depend on your warranty terms so check the original paperwork or self serve. Self serve would show your extended warranty as an add - on. If you have one.
