I am travelling to Mexico and there used to be a travel add-on plan to purchase for a month. I am having trouble finding it this time. Our hotel has WI-FI, but I would like to havem phone available for texts or limited calls if needed. What are my options?  It seems very difficult to get this answered.

Koodo has recently introduced easy roam. For you in Mexico it would be a $10/day charge. You only get charged when you send a text, make or receive a call or use data. Use nothing, no charge. Once charged, you have access to your plan for 24 hours.

You can use Easy Roam for 10 dollars each 24 hours. It makes out at 100 dollars per billing cycle.

Check out here for local prepaid options as well: http://prepaid-data-sim-card.wikia.co...

AT&T Unidas is surprisingly competitive.

Hi there!

Koodo has now EASY ROAM, so for Mexico will be 10$/day ONLY if you use your cell phone.

So the way it works, the 10$ will give you access to your Canadian Plan, so you can use your Mins/sms/Data as if you were in Canada.

Get into your Self Serve account and add EASY ROAM! And remember, it only triggers the charge when you use your cell (Receive or Make a phone call, Send SMS or use Data - Incoming SMS does not count since it is something you do not control)

Enjoy your trip!

The Easy Roam plan is very expensive! What happened to the international text add on? That worked great and didn't break the bank.

It was removed in place of easy Roam. There is a multi month add-on for the US that rains but that's it. If you want to spend a lot less you can get a local prepaid sim card and use that.

Here is info on cost and options: http://prepaid-data-sim-card.wikia.co...

You can use a VoIP App if you still need to call to Canada such as Fongo or Skype.
