Changing companies likely won't help. Sounds like your phone is acting up. Try a soft reset (remove battery if you can) for thirty seconds or so.

Which galaxy do you have? You can restart your phone, pull your sim card out and back in, and see if it still does it. What does your reception look like? Does this happen anywhere you go or only certain areas? It is possible that the network is congested where you are located, but that should be a temporary thing. How long has this been happening for?

I have the S3. Reception is no issue at all. I have no problems with the phone except for texting and it takes way too long to send no matter where I am. The phone is not used much.

If reception is good and phone works well, it could be your SIM card.
Do you have another phone to test your sim?
Or if you can go to a Koodo store nearby, they can check it with their test SIM card.
