I am leaving Canada and want to know when to cancel so I am not billed an extra month

As the title says I am leaving Canada to go back to the UK on the 28th of Septemeber and need to cancel my phone. My billing cycle is currently starting on the 7th of each month and I was wondering when I would have to cancel so that I am not charged for October.

Do I cancel after the 7th of September?

You wont be billed an extra month. When you cancel everything will be prorated and you will only pay for the days you use. But by the sounds of it you would want to cancel on the 28th.

Thank you for the fast reply, so if I cancel on the 6th of September will I still have my account for September or will I have to cancel on the 6th of October?

If you cancel on 6th of September, the 7th of September you won't have a cellphone anymore!

If your billing cycle is starting on the 7th, you receive your bill around 11th.

If you leave Canada on Sep 28th, you want to keep your service from Sep 7th to 28th.
I would call them as soon as you received your bill(Sep 7 -Oct 6) and tell them you want to cancel on Sep 28th. They should be able to tell you your final amount - Tab balance, credit from Sep 29 to Oct 6, and any overages.  And you can pay it before you leave.

One note. If you have limited minutes on your plan like 100 min, 300 min or 500min... it will prorate too and could cause minutes overage charge.

You can access your self serve for 90 days after you cancel your service to check, make sure everything is done.
