HTC One in Koodo

I'm Koodo customer and want to purchase HTC one. Currently, Koodo is not offering any HTC one. I contacted HTC and they recommend buying one outright from another company and get it unlocked. My concern is the warranty of the device. I'm not sure if the warranty still would be valid or not.

I appreciate any suggestions.

Thanks

getting your device unlocked doesn't affect the warranty at all unless you're altering the OS such as jail breaking which you're not so you're good.
Thanks for the responses. I have found a person who wants to sell his HTC One on Craigslist. It is sealed and has not been opened. It is locked to Rogers. I requested the IMEI and found that the number is valid and is reported as stolen. The device has been shipped to him and have the actual shipping box. He is asking for $499.

Would you buy this device? Any ideas can make my decision easier.

Cheers

oh in that case It's safe to buy as long as you're ok with the price. Personally I wouldn't pay that much for an HTC one but that's totally up to you. I might open the box and check that everything's there before I buy it though. :)

Yup your warranty is through htc not Telus/Koodo/whoever so there's nothing to worry about there. Keep in mind as per mobilesyrup the carriers are starting to discontinue it as well.

Mohhamad, I would not buy that phone for that price. You should not be paying more than $400 for that phone. In fact, there's one for $280 on Kijiji London. A few at $400.

Remember, you can always check whether the device has been lost or stolen here: http://www.protectyourdata.ca/check-t...
Thanks Ivan. I live in BC, so I will still check Kijiji and Craigslist. :)

I agree! Not worth $500 at all! I'd shop elsewhere for that price he's asking
Thanks guys. :)
