How much would I hate to pay to upgrade my phone from a Samsung Galaxy Ace to a Nexus 4 16GB? I also want to change my plan to a data plan for $40 a month, and right now I am only paying 20$ a month for basic unlimited text and 25mins call
Thanks

In order to answer your question we need to know what your tab balance is

Log into my our self serve account and get the actual number. Let us known If it's -100 or 100$ as it makes a difference.

Okay so you do have some options. You still owe 100$ on your tab. If you upgrade to tab medium, you'd just have to pay 100$ for the nexus 4. Or if you don't want to upgrade your tab you'd have to pay 250$.

Since you're planning to upgrade your plan anyway I'd recommend Tab Medium, pay the 100$. Keep in mind there's an additional 5$ per month tab charge with tab medium to help pay down your tab within 24 months.

The short answer is that you could upgrade to the Tab Medium and all you'd have to pay is whatever balance is remaining on your current tab. Your first bill would be pro rated because of the plan differences so that first one may be a bit higher than you're expecting. If you have a positive tab balance (0 or more) your cost on tab medium would be zero.

Oh I see, so how much will the nexus 4 cost saying I have a $0 tab?

If you have $0 tab and you get the $300 Nexus 4 on a Tab Medium then you would pay $0 upfront for your phone. Note that there will be a $5 month Tab contribution amount on your bill until your tab reaches $0 again (or within 24 months, whichever happens first)

If you're keeping your number, you need to keep your koodo service active and head over to Fido and tell them what you want to do. They'll port your number over which will cancel your account.

You'll get a bill in the mail for your last month plus 100$ you still owe on your tab.

Why would you want to leave?

Thanks, well I want to because if I go with fido the nexus 4 is only 50$ for a two year plan, which I will be paying 39$ a month, I just want to upgrade my phone and plan really for the best deal

I cant argue that.
Fido's Tab 24 means a cleared Tab after 24 months and only a $50 upfront fee.
Koodo would result in a free phone but a $5 charge for 24 months resulting in a a $120 charge at the end of the 2 years

I hate to egg this guy on further but Mobile Shop has the Nexus 4 on a Fido Tab24 for $0 upfront. Don't bother with the dealer store. Best part is on your agreement it will show a hardware charge of $50 but we essentially pay that bit for you so you'll have a lower economic inducement. Come see us and we'll take good care of both you and your wallet. :)

However the advantage of sticking with Koodo is the retail price/buyout. It's only $300. Fido's retail price on the Nexus 4 is $425 so it's a riskier 24 months (if you break it, want to cancel/upgrade early, etc).

If you are looking for a subsidized phone, you will need to go to a koodo kiosk and pay out your remaining tab and then you can get a new tab.

Or you can just go to Apple.ca and get an unlocked iphone on your own
