Recently I was sending a picture attached to a text message. the message was sent but since then any time that I try to write a new text message, this notification appears with no reason and I can not delete it. I have a Nexus 4 and I have not touched the OS at all. It is been kept updated through Google system.

Try this...

1. Install Handcent SMS from Google Play (Install Clean Master while you're at it)
2. Launch Handcent SMS - make it your default messaging app for now
3. Press Menu Button > More > Undelivered message
4. Here you can delete undelivered SMS and MMS messages (delete thread) and this will remove the 'message not sent' in the notifications area. Uninstall the app when finished.

Uninstalling Handcent SMS after use will restore your default messaging app. Install/run Clean Master to remove any residual data left after uninstallation.

Hi rikkster,

I followed your procedure step by step and it worked like magic!
The notification that was driving me crazy is not appearing any more!

This makes me wonder, should I use Handcent as my default messaging app?

Any way. Thank you very much for your help!

Carlos

You're welcome Carlos. That's really up to you, I find that many third-party messaging apps are a little heavy with the advertising, so I usually stick with the stock messaging app. Either way if this ever happens again, you'll have a proven method to fix the problem. Glad to be of help.

Any idea why the Handcent is no longer available on Google play store? I have the same issue.
