So the phone doesn't take sim card? If so, then if it's not a Koodo phone, you can't use it with Koodo.

Not sure what you mean Lyndsey.

From what I gather, you bought a used phone and the SIM tray is broken and won't hold the SIM card, is that right?

Also, are you a Koodo customer?

Cheers!

Most SIM receptacles (except for iPhone) are springloaded.... Did you try to push it in until it clicks?

Lets make sure that's the problem before we get ahead of ourselves here.

I was only pointing out the most common mistake I see people make when inserting their SIM cards...

That's fine and I actually appreciate your responses because if it is the problem, it will def help her! I just don't like confusing not-so-tech-savy customers with information that may not be relevant and then they think somehow it's part of the problem, you know?

What kind of phone is it? If it indeed does not take a sim card then it is a cdma phone and you can't use it on prepaid, although it can be used on a monthly plan if it is originally a koodo phone.

Speaking of CDMA phones... do they have the exact same coverage as our HSPA phones? I know they operate on a different network, but I'm wondering if the older CDMA network was larger, smaller or equal to the current HSPA one.

Generally speaking these days it's the same area, however in more rural areas the coverage is much better or more reliable on CDMA.

No problem. I know in Alberta it's still an issue for some people.

If your phone doesn't have a SIM Card slot you put in the IMEI # located under the Battery on the phone to activate the phone. You can change it in self serve or by calling Koodo.
