You asked this and it was answered:

You don't, CDMA phones can only be used with their original carriers. It's not possible to use them with anyone else. Sorry

If you can modify it then do so. You won't get the CDMA part working because it's not possible to unlock that part. It may however be possible to unlock the GSM part so start there. I'm assuming you'll need to solder a koodo sim into place at some point.

Without modification it will never work with koodo.

Good luck
Edit: here ya go. But be warned Koodo nor I are responsible if you mess up your phone or burn down your house or pants. You do this at your risk.

Why the heck would you go through the trouble of even trying to get a Photon Q working lol just buy a new phone like I suggested the Photon Q is a terrible phone its slow and outdated and half the apps in the Playstore won't even work on it man. Get the Moto G for $0 on a small tab or only $150 out of your pocket on prepaid and you'll have a phone that's fast has a beautiful 720p display and the newest version of android so you can get most of the apps in the playstore and you'll get the money out of your service your paying for.

Outdated or not, he already has it and free simply cannot be beaten in some cases.

Outdated? I'm running 4.4.2. Both hardware and software are better than the Droid 4 which is the closest competitor with a kb. Plus I'm not a fan of 2/3yr contracts.

Good thing nobody has 3 year terms anymore and contracts are gone since everyone uses Device Balance/Tab system of some kind now.
