I would like to know how to set up my own spending cap and set a monthly limit for data usage. Most networks have this option. Thanks

Well for data there is an application called 3G watchdog where you can set up a data usage cap to prevent going over.

Koodo doesn't guarantee this app themselves though.

In the case of having your own spending cap however, it's unfortunately not possible to set up a spending cap with Koodo unless it was required to start your service based on your credit score upon activation.

You will receive 2 Data Alerts at 75% and 95% of your data usage, but remember that the most important thing is to monitor your account on your Self Service account, that is the best way to avoid going over... Enjoy...

Hey Konrad, to add to Camilo's post, if you have just a Talk & Text plan, you won't receive the data alerts. The alerts are only available on the Data plans.

Depending on what you phone is, you should be able to set the limit on your own handset, there should be an option in settings, data usage and set mobile limit. this is not 100%. so set it lower than you would like to be cut off,

Thanks everyone. This is much help. I am still little surprised/disappointed that this simple feature is not available - for the good of the customer. Data is tricky and checking your usage (not very accurate) is a pain.

Thanks for your guy's help

Actually, depending on the phone you have you can set it to cut off at a preset level. I would not want phone companies cap on my phone. They can only set hard cut-offs, and Murphy's law of course is that when you most need access you won't be able to. Phone settings you can always override.
