I got an android phone (SIII) a few days ago and it runs out of battery so fast. I activated power-saving mode and downloaded an app to help it. I disabled heptic mode, and some apps notification.

How do you increase your battery life on your android phone? Can you share us how it improved your battery life? (e.g. I used to only get 4 hours now it can last to a day by doing this ...)

The main thing is to always have your display brightness level below half. It's always the biggest drain on the battery with any Android phone by alot. I personally don't agree with battery saving apps as they usually do nothing that you can't do manually which means they are just taking more power by being installed and running at all times.

I find that for android you can do the following to save battery:

Turn off Bluetooth if not being used
Turn off GPS if not being used
Turn off Auto Sync abilities (basically set it up to only sync when you go into the app)
Turn off WiFi when out and about and not near a hotspot.
Turn your brightness of the screen down to at least 10 to 15 percent
Turn off your Cellular Data Access when not being used.

Doing any and all of these should give you a major boost in battery life. Also keep in mind that as LTE is a fairly new technology in Ontario for Koodo Mobile, it is still a major drain on battery life.

I forgot that the Galaxy S3 is an LTE capable device that will definitely drain your battery almost twice as fast. It doesn't matter where you are LTE is a huge drain everywhere.
