Few devices use a full sized SD card, I think you may be referring to the smaller microSD card. If you're phone has a microSD slot, insert the microSD card in the phone. The phone will detect the card and may ask if you want to make the card the default storage card for storing pictures.

It depends on the make of phone you have (e.g. Samsung Galaxy S2x) some phones will automatically allow pictures to be stored on the SD card by default.

As for using the card, you can transfer pictures, music and other files to and from the device, while your phone is attached to your computer using your phones' provided usb cable.

That's a vague question. Which phone is it? Typically all you'll need to is make sure it's a MICRO SD card first and then insert it into the phone. We'll help, but we need more details than this.

To have photos save to your SD Card go into your camera app and the settings there will have an option near the bottom to have pics save to the SD Card or external storage.
For pics, video's, music that are on your phone already that you want to move, download a file management app like "powergrasp" from the playstore and use it to move things around just like you do on a PC.

For moving apps if your device allows it, it's easiest to download an app called "apps2SD and use it to easily select which apps to move to your SD Card.
