My wife and i each have a Galaxy ACE. Hers now has a broken charging port ... so I have given her mine (and I bought a new Galaxy s3) I took her sim card and sd card and put them in my phone ... but I am getting a message that the sim card is not activated. What else do I need to do besides just switching them from one phone to another.

I'm pretty sure the Galaxy3 takes a micro sim card, so the one from the ace wouldn't work I don't think.

you are right - the Ace has a standard SIM card, and the S3 has a micro sim, but from the sounds of this Richard gave his wife his old Galaxy Ace since he got a new S3.

What you need to do is take his wifes SIM and put it in Richards old phone, as these will be the right size.

Does it actually say not activated, or does it say unregistered sim? Because the latter usually means the phone is set to 2G only.

S3 use a micro can still get your regular Mini SIM cut to a Micro SIM. Any local mobile store would do it for a low cost. It is a very simple process. Once after getting a Micro SIM, You can insert it into your mobile phone and start accessing it. If you are having any problem in accessing your Micro SIM, ensure it is activated. If it has been activated and still doesn't work, make sure that the phone is free from network restriction. If the device has been network restricted, you can get it unlocked from any vendors online like
