Title says it all! Using my Koodo phone, how do I go about making a collect call? Trying to call a number with area code 210, if that helps.

When I dialed "0" it gives me 3 options. One of which is "to dial operator assisted calls, dial 0, press the area code, and then the number". I tried that and it said "Welcome to Telus long distance" and I thought "Oh dear! I must be getting billed for this! This is definitely not what I want".

So how do I make a collect call?

There's no real point in making a collect call as your going to be charged for the minutes used anyways. If your plan is Canada wide and the call is made within Canada to a Canadian # then just call the # because like I said above your going to be charged for the call anyways.

As far as I know, you cannot make or receive collects calls on mobile phones.

Paul the problem is he's trying to call San Antonio.

Kris you would have to use some kind of calling service to do this (there was an 800 number mentioned in your other topic), probably easier to use something like Skype when connected to Wifi or something to avoid it using any mins/data.

Dial 1-800-CALL-ATT or 1-800-COLLECT to make collect calls to the states. Will use airtime but not be long distance to you.
